Steve Bonini Portraits

Steve has been shooting the worlds greatest athletes for many years.  And he does it oh so well!

Here is an example.

Steve shot this striking portrait of triathlete Becky Lavelle in between her training sessions
in Southern California.

Becky is a fierce competitor.  She looks so relaxed and serene.  Yet, look at the intensity in her eyes.

Steve sure has a way of getting the athletes to perform for him in front of the camera!
Another great one Steve...

Artist Scott Peterson and the Artisan Egg Sandwich

Wendy's unveiled a new breakfast menu and our very own Scott Peterson won the job of depicting their new artisan egg sandwich and steel-cut oatmeal.

Would you like a side of fries with that steel-cut oatmeal?

So you don't forget that Wendy's also serves good 'ol burgers, fries, and more bacon than just about anyone, Scott also shot these menu boards:

Nighttime Drama at LA's Natural History Museum

Here's how Blue Sky CGI's latest work of art was revealed, according to the LA Times:

"...But even 'Mad Men,' 'Bones' and Matthew Broderick’s famous Honda commercial couldn’t compete with the drama that came next.

First, a whale in a tank was projected onto the front of the building – it swooshed in circles, restless. Then real steam shot up from the roof of the Otis Booth Pavilion, as if coming from the whale’s spout.

Inside this 'tank,' the whale threw itself against the side of the glass until the glass cracked and the force of the now-violently choppy water shattered the tank. In the midst of all this, the real-life curtain over the pavilion fell, rippling on its way to the ground as if it was a splash of white sea foam."

Re-live the action:

Natural History Museum Centennial from Blue Sky CGI on Vimeo.

"At this, the crowd — most in evening gowns and tuxes — let out a collective, cacophonous cheer. There was thunderous clapping, joyous hollering. A DJ started playing in the distance. Then the crowd flooded across the bridge into the officially open Otis Booth Pavilion, now glowing with more than 33,000 multicolored LED bulbs."

Oh, How Refreshing: Spills and Splashes

It's warming up outside, and we're finding creative ways to cool off here at NK Reps. There's nothing more revitalizing than a tall glass of cool water on an (almost) summer day.

Can't you just about feel the cool water hit the back of your throat?

A more beautiful take on the subject:

Scott also shoots wine, coffee, beer and milk. To see more of his work with liquids, click over to his website.

Acura's High Security Shoot

Scott Gilbert's latest shoot for Acura had some added excitement: the car he was shooting hadn't been released yet.

"Security was extra tight on this shoot," he says. "The MDX was still considered 'Code Red,' which meant that we had 3 or 4 security specialists with us at all times, protecting the car."

Acura has been one of Scott's most loyal clients; he has worked with them for 7 years and this is his third cover for Acura Style magazine. See more of his work here.

No Elephant Trainers Necessary

Okay guys, whose idea was it to do the elephant?

While the Blue Sky CGI team has been hard at work in the products department (scroll down), they've also found some time to get creative.

There were no animal trainers on this shoot -- this baby elephant was carefully researched, modeled and rendered by Blue Sky CGI's amazing 3D department.

In between drawing trunk wrinkles and skin folds, the artists found the time to make these stunning images:

River Rats

Shooting pictures while knee-deep in a river near Portland, photographer Matthew Brush was definitely in his element.

The "River Rats" shoot was a day of splashing, swimming, laughing, playing and of course, jumping off cliffs. Add some beautiful models, bright sunshine, and a talented photographer, and you have some stunning images.

These photos were featured in the German magazine Thema des Monats, alongside an article encouraging fitness and exercise.
Literally translated, the article is titled: "The Fat-Away Revolution."

NKReps is getting a lot of visibility in Times Square.Last week, Scott Peterson's WD campaign was featured. This week it's Steve Bonini's Ultimate Poker campaign.

Steve's portrait of Antonio Esfandiari is prominently displayed on the corner of 7th Avenue.

Esfandiari is poker’s all-time winningest tournament player. Ultimate Poker has signed him on as their brand ambassador.

When asked what he’s looking forward to the most in his relationship with Ultimate Poker, he said: "Sitting in my apartment in Las Vegas, Nevada, in my underwear, and playing poker on a legal site.”

Scott Peterson's Takeover Campaign for WD

On his way to his studio last week, Scott Peterson was pleasantly surprised to see his pictures, some of them 20 feet tall, covering the walls of a central public transit station in San Francisco. WD’s takeover campaign, which features people cradling their external hard drives, is oversized and impossible to ignore. It’s all over the walls, on the floor and right in front of your eyes as you go down the escalator.

Scott, a top-notch food photographer who recently shot a campaign for Wendy’s, was grateful for the opportunity to show off his abilities to shoot something other than burgers. "I’m pretty comfortable shooting just about anything,” he says. "But it was nice to be able to spread my wings a little and work with some really great people."

The campaign’s concept is elegant, with the images showing external hard drives and the hands that hold them.

Like most subtle (yet effective) concepts, it made for a demanding shoot. “What Western Digital wanted to show was that everyone's lives are digital now. What we would save in a fire, what we value – all those things have a digital version," Scott says. "Now convey that without any facial expression. That was my challenge."

The campaign is nation-wide -- Scott's billboards have been spotted in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.
