APA Something Personal

On Friday Nadine Kalmes and her assistant, Candice Phrogus went to the well attended APA (Advertising Photographers of America) "Something Personal Exhibition" and Holiday party!

Julliete Wolf-Robin took this great photo of Nadine, Candice and Kate:
Here are some photos Candice took with her handy, dandy iPhone:

The girls: Kate Chase, Juliette Wolf-Robin, Nadine Kalmes and Diane Eames

Louis Lesko (we use to rep him!) and Nadine Kalmes

Rob Prideaux, with part of his "Flame" series coming right out of his mouth!

Nadine Kalmes and Caterina Bernardi - from the photobooth!

Kate Chase and Nadine Kalmes

O no! It's the end of the party and someone has run off with Nadine's jacket! It's the middle of winter and cold outside, what to do, what to do!?

humm.... that coat looks familiar....

O - maybe because it's mine! Nadine commiserating with the jacket thief.
All's well that ends well.

And outside while the last few stragglers take off. Looking forward to seeing some new and familiar faces there next year!

How to Grill Everything!

Grill Masters Fire it Up! the 2nd book in the series by Alison Miksch (also published by Chronicle) will be available in the fall of 2010 with more than 500 recipes 150 color photos!!

One of the most comprehensive grill books - this book is organized by ingredients… A primer on handling a wide range of unusual ingredients:

Including Mollusks like Octopus, Lobster, Conch and Squid.

Vegetables and fruit like Baby Bok Choy, Broccolini, Clementines, Leeks, and Edamame

Working with animals like:
Sheep, Pigs, Bison, Venison, Squab and other game birds.
"The story behind the head shot of the pig is they were being raised organically by a small local farmer and very feisty, curious creatures. I had to be placed inside a portable cage, inside the pig pen to be able to shoot them. They were nibbling, poking, and generally a rowdy crew to try to get a decent shot. Although you'd never know it from the soft look on this guy smelling the apple."
And recipes for:
Pulled Pork made from a Fire-Braised Barbecued Pork Shoulder

Whole Grilled Sea Bass In Wasabi Crust
Sage-Brined Roast Turkey Stuffed with Chestnuts and Sausages
